Nine castings of the small German water jerrycan with a capacity of five liters, 1:35 scale. The most numerous package of the whole size range.
Responsibility details are not available.
The five-liter jerrycan closes the German water range at the bottom. It was a piece a soldier carried in one hand without difficulty, and that is why it appears in period footage scattered all over an area: by the kitchen, beside the engine, on a step, in the hand of a figure carrying it.
The contents of the package match that. Nine pieces is the highest count of the whole size range and it is a count that makes sense precisely with a small item. A small object cannot carry a scene by itself, but nine pieces distributed over an area create the impression of an inhabited, used place where something is going on.
That pays off above all on larger bases, where the biggest problem tends to be the empty area between the main objects. You get nine points with which to fill it, without having to buy further figures. For a single display model of a vehicle, by contrast, the package is oversized.
When painting, leave the pieces different. One new, one scuffed, one dusty or dented. Nine jerrycans painted the same way give away series production at once, whereas pieces worn to different degrees look as though each had a history of its own.
One more note on quantity. Nine pieces is the largest count of all the items in this group. Anyone who builds more scenes has a supply for several years ahead and will use the leftover castings with vehicles of other periods as well.
