Responsibility details are not available.
Airfix tackles the most numerously built version of the German Panzer IV medium tank in 1:35 scale. The Mid Version designation refers to the middle stretch of production of the Ausf. H version, which differs from early and late machines in details of the hull, the running gear and the additional equipment. The kit is injection-molded in plastic and is built with ordinary technique, with no need to work with resin or white metal.
The Panzer IV Ausf. H was produced from 1943 and was the most widespread form of the whole line. The main armament was a long 7.5 cm gun, which gave the vehicle considerably better anti-armor effect than the older short weapons. At this stage the frontal armor of the hull was a single thicker plate and the vehicles commonly received side skirt plates on the hull and on the turret. Power came from a Maybach twelve-cylinder gasoline engine. It was a universal machine that served on all fronts until the end of the war.
Assemble and paint the running gear, the wheels and the tracks before you close the hull, otherwise you will get at them badly later. Glue the thin side skirt plates on at the end and watch that they sit parallel, because they are exactly what determines the overall impression of the model. Apply the primer in a thin coat, so that the rivets and the engraving are not lost. For weathering, use a dark wash in the recesses and dry pigment for mud and dust deposits around the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
