Workable tracks for the Soviet BT-5 light tank in 1:35 scale from Aber. It is a metal detail set for assembling working individual-link tracks, not a model of its own.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail construction set from the Polish manufacturer Aber for assembling workable individual-link tracks for the Soviet BT-5 light tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a vehicle model but an accurate metal replacement for the tracks, which the modeler uses in place of the parts from an ordinary plastic kit for a truer look and realistic sag over the road wheels.
The BT-5 was a Soviet fast convertible wheel-and-track light tank of the 1930s, based on Christie suspension. It was marked by high mobility and was fielded, among other places, in the Spanish Civil War and in the opening phase of the fighting on the Eastern Front. Individual-link tracks make it possible to capture their sag in service faithfully on a model.
Separate the individual links with a sharp knife or photo-etch scissors and join them according to the instructions. Degrease the parts before gluing. It is worth painting the assembled tracks with an airbrush in a dark metallic or earth color and then picking out rust and caked mud with pigments and washes. Metal holds its shape, so the sag between the rollers can be imitated faithfully.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
