A plastic model of the two-seat strike aircraft F-15E Strike Eagle from the manufacturer Great Wall Hobby in 1:72 scale. It is a special edition whose name refers to the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the Normandy landings — for them selected American machines carried a commemorative finish with invasion stripes. Great Wall Hobby kits are known for their fine surface engraving and well worked out detail, so they make a solid basis even for a more demanding build.
The F-15E Strike Eagle is a two-seat multirole combat aircraft developed from the F-15 Eagle fighter for precise strikes in all weather. It is characterized by the conformal fuel tanks along the sides of the fuselage, a wide range of external stores and a second crew member operating the weapon systems. It has been in use since the 1990s, first in combat in the Gulf War, and to this day it is among the backbone of the tactical forces of the US Air Force.
Bond the parts with a thin cement for plastic models and sand the joints down once dry. Spray the model with primer before painting; an airbrush will manage the overall gray camouflage in thin coats. For the commemorative finish with invasion stripes prepare precise masking — sharp color transitions decide the final impression. A fine panel wash will bring out the engraved lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
