A turned metal barrel of the Soviet 107 mm ZIS-6 gun for a model of the KV-3 heavy tank in 1:35 scale. It is a replacement part, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set is not a tank model but a precisely turned metal barrel of the Soviet 107 mm gun, with which you replace the plastic part from the box on a model in 1:35 scale. The metal barrel has a circular cross section with no longitudinal seam, a cleanly machined muzzle and a faithful transition of shapes. It is made by the Polish brand Aber, a specialist in turned barrels and photo-etched accessories.
The 107 mm ZIS-6 gun came about in 1941 as armament for a new generation of Soviet heavy tanks, among them the KV-3. The program was halted shortly after the fighting on the Eastern Front began, the tank never reached series production and it stayed at the prototype stage. For a modeler this is a typical subject from the category of so-called paper projects and unfinished designs, which draws attention in a display case at once.
Cut the plastic barrel off with a fine saw and level the cut surface with a file, so that the metal part sits on the axis. Use cyanoacrylate glue or a two-part epoxy for gluing, because cement for polystyrene does not work here. Degrease the metal before painting and cover it with a primer. A long barrel is liable to damage, so fit it to the model as late as you can and handle the model by the hull.
The set is an accessory to a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
