Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed resin set that captures the Soviet SPG-9M recoilless gun on a tripod mount in 1:35 scale. It is a standalone accessory intended for dioramas and a vignette, not a model of a vehicle or a figure set. The parts are cast from gray modeling resin, are supplied unpainted and with casting blocks, and call for assembly.
The SPG-9 is a Soviet recoilless weapon of 73 mm caliber introduced in the 1960s as an anti-tank means for infantry units. The barrel rests on a folding tripod mount, the crew consists of several men and the weapon fires an over-caliber armor-piercing projectile with a rocket sustainer. The recoil is balanced by gases escaping through a rear nozzle, thanks to which the weapon stays light and portable, but a danger area arises behind the muzzle. The SPG-9M version is the upgraded variant with modified sighting equipment. The weapon appears in a number of conflicts from the 1960s to the present day, so it suits both historical and modern scenes.
Before gluing, wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that the surface freed of release agent takes the paint. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and sand the surfaces wet with respiratory protection. The thin legs of the tripod mount are fragile, so support them during clean-up. Assemble with cyanoacrylate glue and first check dry that the weapon stands straight. After primer, go on with a dark green or gray-green base color, bring out the barrel and the muzzle with a graphite shade and accentuate the whole with a dark wash in the hollows. Finish the dust and mud on the tripod mount with pigments, so that the weapon fits into the terrain.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
