About product

A photo-etched set for the Sd.Kfz.138/2 Hetzer, late version, in 1:35 scale (Aber)

A photo-etched detail set for refining the plastic kit of the German tank destroyer Sd.Kfz.138/2 Hetzer in its late version, 1:35 scale. It is not a model but a metal accessory for models of the Sd.Kfz.138/2 Hetzer tank destroyer. The photo-etched parts replace the heaviest plastic features and add fine detail.

What the set is for

The Hetzer was a light, low tank destroyer on the chassis of the LT vz. 38, the Pz.Kpfw. 38(t), fielded by the Wehrmacht in the closing stage of the Second World War. The late production version differed in details of the fenders, covers and fittings. The set typically brings fenders, mesh screens, tool clamps and other fine sheet-metal pieces matching the late configuration.

Fitting tips

Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and bend them over a ruler or with a photo-etch bending tool. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or with a dedicated glue for photo-etched parts. Treat the metal with a primer before painting. For weathering, washes and pigments for mud and dust effects work well.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers building the late version Hetzer in 1:35 scale
  • Anyone wanting a higher level of detail than out of the box
  • Builders with experience of photo-etched parts

This is an accessory, not a complete model. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
