A set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the British Blackburn Buccaneer S.2C/D carrier attack aircraft. The metal parts refine detail that cannot be achieved in plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Blackburn Buccaneer is a British carrier attack aircraft built for penetrating to a target at low altitude, above all over the sea. Its rugged airframe, its crew of two and its equipment for service on an aircraft carrier, that is, a folding wing and a folding rear fuselage section, all correspond to that. The S.2 version was given turbofan engines, with which the aircraft gained greater range and withstood long flight at high speed close to the ground. The designations S.2C and S.2D belong to later configurations of this version.
This is a set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale. Photo-etch is made from thin metal sheet, so it allows features to be captured that in plastic are necessarily thicker than they should be. The extent of the parts and their placement on the model are given in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with nippers; level the small remainder after separation with a fine file. Make the bends along the embossed lines, best of all in a bending tool or between the jaws of flat tweezers. Metal will not be joined by cement for polystyrene, so use super glue or epoxy and apply only a tiny amount. Before painting, wash and degrease the sheet and lay a primer on it, otherwise the paint will not stay on the smooth surface.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
