Super Etendard Antennas 1:48 (Quickboost)

This resin set from the Quickboost brand, made by the Czech manufacturer Aires, brings faithfully cast antennas for a model of the French carrier-based strike aircraft Dassault Super Etendard in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but a small detail accessory for more experienced modelers, replacing the thicker and easily broken plastic parts with a slender casting of correct shape. Both the blade and the rod antennas gain a thinner and more faithful profile.

The real subject

The Dassault Super Etendard was a French single-engine carrier-based strike aircraft, flown from French Navy carriers from the 1970s. It became known as a carrier of anti-ship missiles and was also used by Argentine naval aviation, among other things during the Falklands conflict.

Tips for working with resin

First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off carefully and sand the cut surfaces with your airways protected. Bond the antennas with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and fit them at the very end of the build so that they do not snap off.
