An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet 2S14 Zhalo-S self-propelled anti-tank gun from Trumpeter in 1:35 scale. It is a wheeled vehicle, so the kit contains a chassis with rubber tires, a well worked-out driver and crew interior, a separate turret with a partly metal barrel for the 85 mm gun, clear parts and photo-etched elements.
The 2S14 Zhalo-S was a Soviet experimental tank destroyer of the late 1970s. It combined the proven 85 mm gun, whose ancestry goes back to the guns of the Second World War, with a fast wheeled chassis derived from the BTR series armored personnel carrier. The aim was to give mechanized units fast and mobile anti-tank fire support. In the end the vehicle never entered wider service and remains an interesting record of Soviet military engineering of its day.
On a wheeled vehicle, give time to the chassis, the axles and the seating of the hull so that the model stands level. Work out and paint the interior and the crew compartment before you close the hull, because afterwards you will not be able to reach them. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and the photo-etch with cyanoacrylate. Apply primer under the paint. For the patina, use washes in the recesses and earth and dust pigments on the tires, the fenders and the underside of the vehicle.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
