1:35/Uniscale Picture Frames + Route66 Photos

Frames with photographs of Route 66, MAiM, 1:35/Uniscale

This set of picture frames with motifs of the legendary American road Route 66 from the manufacturer MAiM brings a piece of American road culture into your diorama. Route 66, nicknamed the Main Street of America, is a symbol of the era of chromed cars, roadside diners and neon, and that is exactly the atmosphere the pictures on the wall will summon up. The set is listed in the universal 1:35/Uniscale and will serve in scenes in neighboring scales as well, for instance 1:32.

Use in a diorama

The natural home of these motifs is American subjects: a diner, a repair shop, a garage with a classic car, a roadside motel or a tattoo parlor. They fill out dioramas with American automobiles and pick-ups superbly, and also post-apocalyptic scenes, where faded memories of the golden age of the roads contrast with the destruction around them. Combined with other MAiM props, with furniture and billboards, they let you put a whole story together.

Tips for working it

The frames come out well in a simple dark or metallic finish, so that the colored motifs stay the main accent. In garage scenes feel free to hang the pictures carelessly and fill them out with other small things on the wall. For derelict interiors use dust pigments and fine oil stains.
