A resin kit of an American military scooter with a sidecar in 1:35 scale. The package is completed by photo-etched sheet, a separate clear part for the headlight and decals for three marking options, among them a gray navy finish, an olive army shade and a markedly yellow airfield service version. Because of the material and the small parts it is a build for more experienced modelers.
Light motor scooters served American units in the Second World War for messenger duty, supervision and moving around airfields and camps. An attached sidecar turned them into a small transport vehicle, with which a crate of material, tools or a second person could be carried. That is exactly why the machines appeared with airfield personnel and with rear-area services, where there was no need to drive off the road but a need to move quickly over a large area.
Wash the resin parts in warm soapy water, so that the mold release agent is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, never break them off, and level the surfaces with a file while protecting your airways. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and the photo-etched parts should be bent over a metal edge. Glue the clear headlight part on last and preferably with a glue for clear parts, which does not fog the surface. Apply a base coat before painting. The yellow airfield service version calls for a light base, otherwise the shade does not cover.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
