The package contains nine accurately turned metal barrels of 203 mm caliber, which replace the plastic parts of the main artillery. The metal barrels have a sharp muzzle, an accurate profile and do not bow. It is a detail accessory, not a kit of a whole ship.
The 203 mm caliber (eight inches) made up the main armament of the American heavy cruisers. Nine guns were arranged in three triple turrets and gave the ships of this type considerable firepower against surface targets and for shore support. The eight-inch guns were the typical main caliber of the interwar and wartime American heavy cruisers.
Separate the barrels from the stub and clean them up, then degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a primer. We recommend an airbrush and shades of naval gray, and bring the muzzle out with a dark wash.
The set is an accessory, not a model of a ship. It is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
