The package contains nine accurately turned metal barrels of the 406 mm main caliber, intended for turrets without blast bags. The metal barrels replace the plastic parts from the box and give a model a sharp and faithful profile of the main artillery. It is a detail accessory, not a kit of a whole ship.
The 406 mm caliber (sixteen inches) made up the main armament of the American fast battleships of the North Carolina class. Three triple turrets carried nine heavy guns able to destroy armored targets at long range. The form without blast bags matches one particular appearance of the turrets.
Separate the barrels from the stub, clean them up and, before painting, degrease them and go over them with a primer. We recommend an airbrush, shades of wartime naval gray and a fine accent on the muzzle with a dark wash.
The set is an accessory, not a model of a ship. It is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
