A plastic kit of the Japanese battleship Ise as she was in 1944, that is after her conversion into a hybrid ship with a flight deck aft. 1:350 scale, the Ship series from Fujimi.
Responsibility details are not available.
Ise was a Japanese battleship that went through an unusual conversion in 1943. The aft main-caliber gun turrets were removed and in their place a hangar with a short flight deck was built. The result was a hybrid ship: forward she kept the armament of a battleship, aft she was to carry aircraft. Those, however, took off from catapults and could not return to the deck, so Ise never became a full aircraft carrier. The kit captures her state in 1944.
A kit of plastic parts in 1:350 scale to be glued and painted. Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
With ships of this scale the order of the work decides: finish and paint the deck and the superstructures first, and only then glue on the small armament and the cranes, otherwise you will not reach them with a brush. Build the hull on a flat surface and keep checking that the deck does not sit twisted. Apply the paint in thin coats and bring out the transitions between the deck and the sides, otherwise the whole model will merge into a single shade.
For builders of ship models interested in less usual designs, and for collectors of the Japanese fleet of the Second World War. Paints, glue and thinner are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
