Responsibility details are not available.
This is a masking set in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard, which is based in Obrnice near Most. It is not a model of an aircraft or a photo-etched set but an accessory for painting. The masks are cut out and serve for covering the areas that are to stay clean after spraying, that is above all the glazing of the cockpit and other transparent or circular elements. The exact contents of the set, that is the number and the extent of the individual masks, are stated on the box of the set.
Masking the frames of glazing with tape by hand is slow on biplanes with a broken-up canopy and the result tends to be irregular. Pre-cut masks shorten this work and give straight, sharp edges. The film used for modeling masks adapts well to curves, holds even on rounded surfaces and leaves no adhesive once removed. Besides the glazing, the wheels are masked in the same way, where the tire has to be separated from the rim.
Take the masks off the sheet with tweezers or the tip of a scalpel; do not touch the adhesive side with your fingers. Press a mask down properly with a toothpick around its whole circumference, otherwise the paint runs under it. Spray in thin coats; a thick coat creates an edge at the boundary. Take a mask off while the paint is still freshly dried, not after several days, when the paint already holds and may be torn off. If the kit prescribes masking the inner side of the glazing as well, check whether your set contains such pieces.
This is an accessory for painting, not a model of an aircraft. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
