The lightest step of the sand scale is offered by Lifecolor Light Tan, an acrylic paint for canvas, straps and sheeting that have lost their original tone in the sun.
Responsibility details are not available.
The acrylic shade Light Tan holds the lightest position of the sand scale of this range. It is aimed at materials that lighten naturally: cotton canvas, straps, tarpaulins, ropes, bandages and the gussets of packs. In the line it stands directly beside the darker sand tone, so both positions can be used as a pair on one object.
Textile does not shift toward white in the sun but toward a light yellow-brown with reduced color. That is exactly where Light Tan sits. On a model it therefore works not only as a color but as information: the same tarpaulin in a rich sand looks new, the same tarpaulin in the light tone looks as though it has been through something. That is seen best when only the crests of the folds get the light tone and the richer one stays in the shadows.
It pays for modelers who build scenes from warm regions or from long field service, and for everyone who works with the grading of a single tone. It also serves as a light intermediate step when the jump between two neighboring shades is too hard.
Stir the paint thoroughly before work. Store it in a well-closed container, out of the reach of children and out of direct sun.
