The resin detail set B-17F/G Flying Fortress wheels w/ weighted tyres type b in 1:48 scale replaces the main wheels from the box with castings that have the weighted deformation of the tire suggested and fine hub detail. The set is from Armory and is made for B-17F/G bomber models in the type b tire tread variant. Masking templates for painting the tires are usually included.
A sagged tire gives a heavy machine the impression of real weight and better contact with the ground; resin castings have sharper detail than production plastic. This is an accessory, not an aircraft kit in its own right.
Wash the mold release agent off the wheels, cut the casting blocks off and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Orient the deformed area downwards toward the ground. Paint the tires through the masks supplied and pick the wheel rims out with a wash. Sand with respiratory protection.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
