Look Plus is the extended version of the Look range. While the basic Look deals mainly with a finished colored instrument panel cast in resin, Look Plus adds a pre-painted photo-etched fret for the rest of the cockpit. The result is a coherent interior package in 1:48 scale that raises the standard of a cockpit with one purchase. It is not a model of the aircraft or a fuselage conversion set: it is an accessory for a kit.
The Bell P-400 was the export designation of the P-39 Airacobra fighter aircraft. The design was unusual in that the engine was placed behind the pilot and drove the propeller through a long shaft under the cockpit, which was entered through automobile-style doors. That is exactly what makes the cockpit a prominent and clearly visible place on a model, so on this type an investment in the interior shows more than on other fighters.
The set brings together two materials that are worked in different ways. The resin panel is washed free of release agent before gluing and is fixed with cyanoacrylate; the photo-etched fret is separated with a scalpel, shaped in a bending tool, and the pre-painted parts are neither primed nor painted over. Keep dry-fitting as you go, as resin tends to be a little thicker than the original plastic, so the mating surfaces often have to be sanded down. Protect the colored surfaces during further spraying and apply pigments and washes in a targeted way, not over the whole area.
This is an accessory for a build, not a stand-alone model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
