The Hauler Bergepanzer III 1:48 resin set makes it possible to build the recovery version of the German medium tank. It is an accessory for experienced modelers, not a kit in its own right.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of resin castings from the Czech maker Hauler in 1:48 scale, meant for rebuilding the Tamiya plastic kit into the Bergepanzer III recovery vehicle. It is not a finished model or a complete kit but a set of parts that replace some of the original contents of the box. Work on the plastic is substantial with an accessory of this kind, so the set suits modelers who already have practice in cutting and modifying a hull.
The Bergepanzer III came about by modifying the chassis and hull of the Panzer III medium tank. The vehicle lost its turret and main armament and served engineer and repair units for recovering and towing damaged equipment off the battlefield. It was a practical way of going on using the chassis of a type that was no longer adequate in the role of a combat tank.
First wash the castings in warm water with detergent so that the remains of release agent from the mold are removed, or neither primer nor glue will hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw or a cutting disc, and never break them. When sanding resin, work wet and protect your breathing; the dust is unpleasant. It is bonded exclusively with super glue; resin does not react to ordinary cement for plastic. Apply a primer before spraying paint, which will at the same time reveal small bubbles and traces of the mold.
This is an accessory for a build, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
