An injection-molded plastic kit of the Grumman Avenger Mk.I torpedo bomber in the colors of the British Fleet Air Arm in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The kit offers folding wings, a detailed engine and a glazed dorsal turret with a .50 caliber machine gun; the exact package contents are given in the enclosed instructions. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Grumman TBF Avenger was an American three-seat carrier torpedo bomber of the Second World War. More than a thousand of these machines went to the British Fleet Air Arm, where they served under the designation Avenger Mk.I in the Atlantic and in the Pacific. It was a rugged and reliable aircraft with a roomy bomb bay, a defensive turret and folding wings for operation from carrier decks.
Finish and paint the cockpit, the engine and the interior of the turret before you close the fuselage. Mask the extensive glazing of the canopy and the turret and spray the framing separately. Decide in advance whether you will build the wings spread or folded. Spray the base coat over a primer; seat the decals on a gloss coat and even out the surface with a matte coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
