Airbrakes for the Canadair CL-13 Sabre Mk.4 are a CMK resin accessory set in 1:48 scale as a replacement for the parts from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory set from the Czech manufacturer CMK in 1:48 scale, which deals with the airbrakes of the Canadair CL-13 Sabre Mk.4 fighter. It is not an aircraft kit but a detailed replacement for the parts from the base kit, and the model itself is bought separately.
On a parked aircraft the brakes on the sides of the fuselage are often extended and open up a space that an injection mold manages only as a shallow applied panel. Cast resin allows a thin wall for the brake and deeper detail in the space behind it, so the model gains depth exactly where the viewer approaches it from the side. At the same time it is a small-scale intervention, because unlike a cockpit it does not touch the fit of the fuselage.
The original brakes from the kit usually have to be cut out: work with a modeling saw and a scriber, run the cut around the edge from the inside out and then level the opening with a file. Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts before gluing, cut the casting blocks off and level the surfaces by sanding wet. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the inside of the space before you fit the brake, because afterward you will not get in there with a brush. Try the angle of extension dry first against a photograph of the real subject, so that the brakes do not look unnaturally wide open.
This is an accessory, not a model of an aircraft. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
