Cut self-adhesive kabuki paper masks from New Ware at the basic BASIC level, intended for the model of the American ground-attack aircraft A-10A Thunderbolt II in 1:48 scale. The large bubble canopy with its prominent front frame is the first thing the eye falls on an A-10 model, and precisely cut masks guarantee a clean spray with no paint creeping under and no lengthy tape cutting. The BASIC designation marks the basic extent of the set; New Ware also offers the more extensive EXPERT level for the same aircraft.
The A-10 Thunderbolt II, nicknamed the Warthog, was designed around the massive GAU-8 Avenger rotary cannon for destroying armored vehicles. The pilot is protected by a titanium bathtub, two engines above the rear fuselage reduce the aircraft's vulnerability, and a simple, rugged airframe lets it operate from rough fields. The machine proved itself from the Gulf War to the present day and is one of the most popular American subjects among modelers.
