The ground-attack Fw 190F-8 on a sheet of decals in 1:48, five machines of German and Hungarian service of the years 1944 and 1945.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-8 version came out of the proven Fw 190A-8 airframe through changes for combat over the battlefield. Armor was added to the lower part of the fuselage, part of the armament in the wing went away and a rack for a bomb was fitted under the fuselage. An air-cooled radial engine stood a hit better than an inline one, which made the type a favorite machine with units meant to support the ground forces in the last two years of the war.
The five variants divide into two groups. Three machines with the white numbers 64, 65 and 67 belonged to Hungarian ground-attack units, specifically to formations of the numbered 102 series in the winter of 1944 and at the beginning of 1945. The remaining two aircraft are German, one from the staff of a ground-attack Geschwader, the other with the blue 12 of a trials unit operating in the area between Hannover and Celle in the fall of 1944. For the last machine the name of the pilot is given as well.
If you are combining hard camouflage edges with decals on a model, work from the bottom upward and always let an edge dry. On this version the numbers on the fuselage often coincide with a panel line, so a light softener and gentle pressure with a cotton swab come in useful.
