Aber WWII German pattern treadplate (1:35) is a photo-etched metal set that faithfully replaces the non-skid treadplate on the fenders and platforms of German armored vehicles, the Pz.IV tank for example. The set is intended for the Trumpeter kit.

This photo-etched metal detail set from the Polish maker Aber brings a faithful imitation of the German non-skid treadplate of the Second World War period in 1:35 scale. It serves to replace or to overlay the walking surfaces, fenders and step plates of armored vehicles, typically of the Pz.IV medium tank. The treaded pattern is etched into thin metal with an accurate rendering that plastic parts cannot catch. It is based on the dimensions of the Trumpeter kit.
German military vehicles used sheet metal with a pressed non-skid pattern on the fenders and the walking surfaces. For a long time that was hard to render on scale models; photo-etched metal therefore provides a realistic texture and the correct thickness of the edges, which lifts the impression of the finished model considerably.
Cut and trim the sheet on a hard surface and shape it slowly to the curved surfaces of the vehicle. Glue it with cyanoacrylate glue and watch for an even fit. Degrease the metal before painting and lay down a primer for metal; bring the texture out with drybrushing and washes so that the tread pattern shows.
This is a metal detail accessory, not a model of a vehicle. The Trumpeter base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
