From 1944 the Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 became the most numerous sub-version and at the same time the heaviest. An auxiliary tank was added into the fuselage, the armor of the cockpit was reinforced and the machine was prepared for mounting external racks. The armament consisted of a pair of heavy machine guns above the engine and cannons of 20 mm caliber in the wing roots, while the later examples carried another pair of cannons farther from the fuselage.
The metal part of the package covers both. Two machine gun muzzles are enclosed, which project from the fairings ahead of the cockpit, and two cannon barrels from the wing root. The tube of the airspeed sensor is not missing either. The films are cut for both sides of the glazing and two masks for the national insignia complement them.
On this type the cannons in the wing root are right in the place everyone who picks a model up looks at. The barrels are short and thick, so a plastic molding can imitate them in shape, but the opening at the muzzle stays blind and seen from the front that hits the eye. The turned parts are therefore worth having for anyone who builds the model as a front view on a stand. For a model in flying attitude under a ceiling the benefit is smaller.
