A masking set in kabuki-type tape for a model of the Buccaneer S.2 aircraft in 1:48 scale, in the Expert version.
Responsibility details are not available.
The masks are made of kabuki-type tape, which conforms well even to rounded surfaces and leaves a crisp edge when taken off. The elements are ready-cut to shape, so there is no measuring, tracing or cutting with a knife, which is the part of a build where an otherwise successful model is most often spoiled. The set comes in the Expert version; the versions of the same subject within the range differ in how much they cover, and exactly what the set contains and which kit it belongs to is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The Buccaneer S.2 was created as a carrier-borne strike aircraft for low-level flight over the sea. Later it also went to land-based units of the Royal Air Force and it stayed in service until the 1990s. Its stocky silhouette with the long nose and folding wings is one of the unmistakable ones and it does not go unnoticed at modeling shows.
Wash and degrease the surface before applying them. Pick the elements up with tweezers, settle them exactly in place and press the edges down with a blunt tip so that paint cannot run under them. Spray in thin coats and let each one dry. Then remove the mask while the finish is still fresh; it is pulled back at a shallow angle over itself, not straight off the surface.
The set suits a modeler who wants the glazing frames straight and clean and does not want to spend a whole evening on masking. Even a beginner can manage it; the work calls mainly for precision.
The delivery contains masking elements. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
