Artwox Model 1:700 a masking template for the deck of the battleship Tirpitz is a self-adhesive pre-cut mask for spraying the deck areas. It is neither a deck nor a model, but an aid for painting the Revell 05099 kit.

This product needs placing correctly straight away: you do not get a wooden deck or photo-etched parts, but a sheet of self-adhesive masking film with pre-cut shapes that exactly follow the wooden areas of the deck of a particular kit. The template does the most tedious part of painting a ship for you, that is bounding the line between the deck color and the gray of the steel areas. The cut-outs fit the Revell 05099 kit, so check the match in advance.
A mask replaces neither paint nor a surface. You therefore do not get the pattern of the planks in the form of veneer: the planks stay as the engraved plastic deck of the kit has them. The template deals exclusively with the edge of the spraying. Anyone who wants real wood reaches for a wooden deck, and anyone who only wants a cleanly bounded deck without hours of masking with tape by hand will manage with exactly this sheet.
First spray the whole deck in the shade of wood and let the paint really cure, not merely dry to the touch. Then stick the mask on, press the edges down carefully with a fingernail or a toothpick and spray the steel areas in naval gray. Spray perpendicular and in thin coats so that paint does not flow under the edge. Take the mask off soon after it has dried and with a pull at an angle backwards, not straight upwards.
This is neither a kit nor a wooden deck. Neither paints nor the base model are included in the package.
