The Hawk T Mk. I is a British single-engine jet aircraft with seats in tandem, designed for advanced pilot training and capable of light combat tasks as well. Characteristic are the low-set wing, the good view from the raised rear seat and the simple, robust landing gear. Thanks to a long service and a great number of user countries, the type offers an unusually varied palette of finishes, from training grays through a striking contrasting scheme to the colorful whole-aircraft finishes of display units.
The cockpit of this type is clearly visible through the large canopy, so it pays to devote time to both stations and the seats; the instrument panels can be completed with relief 3D decals as well. The fuselage is slim, so before gluing the halves check whether the model will sit down on its tail, and if need be add weight in the nose. The seams on the fuselage and on the intakes are sanded in a clearly visible place, so count on filling and polishing. Gloss and single-color schemes will reveal every unevenness, so spray over a filler primer and apply the paint in thin layers. Clear-coat the surface with gloss before the decals, and once dry unify it with matte or satin according to the subject.
