Responsibility details are not available.
The Il-2 Shturmovik is a Soviet ground-attack aircraft of the Second World War, built for low-level attacks on ground targets. Its distinctive feature is the armored shell that forms the forward fuselage itself and protects the engine, the radiators, the fuel and the pilot; the armor is therefore not an added plate but the load-bearing structure. It was built in enormous numbers and ranks among the most numerous combat aircraft ever. Later versions received a second seat for a gunner at the rear of the cockpit.
Masking parts for a model in 1:48 scale, shaped for the surfaces that are to stay free of paint when spraying, that is, above all for the canopy glazing. Nothing has to be traced or cut out to your own template, and the glazing frames come out symmetrical. According to its name the set is prepared for the kit by Revell; on another kit of the same aircraft the shapes will not match, because each one draws the glazing differently. The exact extent of the set, that is, whether it covers only the canopy or the wheels and other surfaces as well, is given in the instructions in the package.
The masks go on before spraying, on a clean and degreased surface. Lift them off with tweezers, seat them and press the edges down with a toothpick, especially in the corners by the glazing frames, otherwise paint will run underneath. Apply the paint in thin coats; a heavy coat breaks at the edge of the mask. Remove them as soon as the paint has flashed off, bending them back over themselves at a sharp angle instead of pulling straight up.
The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
