About product

Ju 52/3m 1:48 - photo-etched detail set (Eduard)

A photo-etched detail set in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. It holds fine metal parts for detailing the plastic kit of the three-engine Junkers Ju 52/3m transport aircraft. It is an accessory, not a standalone aircraft model; the contents follow the instructions in the package.

The real subject

The Junkers Ju 52/3m was a three-engine airliner and transport aircraft famous for its characteristic corrugated duralumin skin. In the 1930s it served as a reliable airliner, and during the Second World War it became the backbone of German military air transport and airborne operations. Its rugged structure earned it the nickname Auntie Ju, and it flew on many fronts and in postwar civil service as well.

Use and fitting

The parts are cut from the fret, bent along the engraved lines and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The photo-etched features usually refine the pilot's cabin, the interior of the cargo compartment, the instrument panels and other fine details. Degrease the surfaces before gluing and paint with an airbrush for an even finish.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers building the Ju 52/3m in 1:48 scale
  • Anyone interested in a higher level of detail in the cabin and the interior
  • More advanced builders used to working with photo-etch
  • Collectors of Second World War transport aircraft

This is an accessory, not an aircraft model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.

FAQ

No. This is a photo-etched detail set, a set of fine metal parts for detailing a separate plastic kit. The model is not included in the package.

For the three-engine Junkers Ju 52/3m transport aircraft, in 1:48 scale.

Super glue (cyanoacrylate) is best. The parts are cut from the fret and bent along the pre-formed engraved lines.
