A double-sided masking set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the two-seat Starfighter in 1:48. The TFace designation means that besides stencils for the outside of the glazing, the package also holds the shapes for its inner side. It is an accessory for painting that you buy to go with a kit; the model itself is not part of it.
The difference from the standard version shows wherever the cockpit is open or wherever you can look into it. A frame painted only from outside stays transparent on the inside and, seen from above through the glazing, looks like a light stripe. On the two-seat version that shows twice over: the lengthened cockpit with two seats in tandem has more segments of glazing, more frames and longer side surfaces that are easily in view. If you are building a model with the cockpit closed and do not intend to open it later, a standard set will do; as soon as you want the cockpit hinged open, a double-sided set is practically a necessity.
Work from the inside out. Stick the inner stencils on, spray the interior shade onto the frames, let it dry and only then deal with the outside. The order cannot be reversed, because once the cockpit is glued into the fuselage you cannot reach the inner side. Never sand the transparent parts where a mask is going to lie, and spray in thin coats.
The package contains masking stencils only. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it.
