It is not a kit or a helicopter model but an accessory, a set of decals that you apply to a model already built and painted. The set is meant for modelers who want to give their machine a particular allegiance and markings instead of the decals from the box.
The Mi-17 and its export variant the Mi-171 are transport and multi-purpose helicopters derived from the Mi-8, recognizable among other things by the repositioned tail rotor and more powerful engines. The Mi-24 is a gunship and at the same time a transport helicopter with an armored cockpit and the ability to carry a group of troops. Both types remain in active service after a number of countries joined NATO and are gradually remarked to the standards of their new users, and it is precisely this state that the set covers.
Apply the decals over a gloss surface: a matte varnish has a microscopically broken structure in which air is trapped under the film of the decal and silvering appears. The procedure is always the same: gloss varnish, the decal, a decal softener and gentle pressing into the engraved lines, and once dry a matte or semi-matte overcoat to suit the character of the machine. Build the fuselage numbers up according to the reference you have for the model and keep checking that the row is level; on curved surfaces it helps to divide the decal.
