This set is a resin accessory, not a kit of the whole aircraft. It contains faithfully worked external fuel tanks for a model of the MiG-17 fighter. The accessory extends the range of the machine depicted and gives the model an authentic look.
The MiG-17 was a Soviet subsonic fighter of the 1950s, widely deployed by the Soviet Air Force and by friendly countries. To extend its range it carried external fuel tanks on the wing pylons, which were part of its typical underwing configuration.
The parts are of resin and are meant for more experienced modelers. Before gluing, wash them free of mold release agent residues, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue; sand with respiratory protection. The tanks are usually painted to match the shade of the aircraft's undersurfaces and can be given light weathering.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
