Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory of the Soviet R-98MR air-to-air guided missile in 1:48 scale from the production of the Czech manufacturer Plusmodel, from the range aimed at aircraft armament and accessories. It is not a stand-alone model of an aircraft but an accessory with which you add armament to a model of a Soviet interceptor or enrich an airfield diorama. The castings in fine gray resin capture the characteristic shape of the missile with its large rear wings and the radome at the front.
The R-98 missile came about in the 1960s as the main armament of the Soviet interceptors of the air defense, above all the Sukhoi Su-15 type. The modernized R-98M series of the beginning of the 1970s brought greater range and resistance to jamming. The R-98MR version, AA-3 Anab in the NATO reporting system, used semi-active radar guidance, as the target was illuminated by the radar of the fighter. In practice the missiles were carried in pairs: the radar version together with the infrared one, so as to increase the probability of hitting the target.
First wash the resin parts in warm soapy water so that the remains of the mold release agent are removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and glue the joints with cyanoacrylate glue. Use protection for your airways while sanding resin. Soviet missiles of this series were usually sprayed light gray or white, and a fine wash will bring the parting lines and the details out.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
