Curtiss P-40 (early versions) — wheels and paint masks 1:48 from the Czech manufacturer AML is an undemanding resin accessory that lifts the landing gear of a Tomahawk in a single evening.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small accessory with a big effect: resin wheels from the Czech manufacturer AML replace the split plastic parts of the early P-40 versions, and the enclosed paint masks solve the most tiresome part of the job, a clean boundary between tire and hub. The set is an accessory for a base kit and does not contain the aircraft model.
The early versions of the Curtiss P-40 fighter, known under the British name Tomahawk, made their name in North Africa and in the colors of the American volunteers in China, whose aircraft carried the iconic shark mouths. The P-40 was not the fastest fighter of its day, but it was rugged, reliable and built in large numbers, which is why it is still among the most popular modeling subjects.
The job is ideal for a single evening: cut off the casting blocks, sand them, glue with cyanoacrylate glue and spray through the mask. If you are starting out with resin, this is a safe first step, as the parts are easy to follow and any mistake is simple to put right. Dust and light scuffs on the tires underline the field character of the African aircraft.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
