The resin detail set P-51B/C Mustang engine set in 1:48 scale from Aires. It is a faithful casting of the powerplant as an accessory for a kit, not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set is a resin accessory for the engine section of a plastic kit of the American P-51B/C Mustang fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail set with a faithfully rendered powerplant, engine mount and adjoining parts, which makes it possible to build the machine with the engine cowling open.
The North American P-51B/C Mustang was the early production form of the famous American fighter of the Second World War, recognizable by its framed canopy. It was powered by the liquid-cooled Packard V12 (a license-built Rolls-Royce Merlin), which gave the Mustang excellent performance at high altitude. An exposed engine section is a rewarding subject for a detailed treatment.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate the casting blocks and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Keep checking the fit with the kit parts, above all with the cowling and its panels, which are often reworked to show the engine open. Sand resin with respiratory protection. The engine comes into its own once painted, with the lines picked out and a gentle patina added.
This is a resin detail set, that is, an accessory for a kit. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
