SX-Art 1:48 masking set for the L-39C is a pre-cut accessory for precise painting of a kit of the Czechoslovak jet trainer. It is not a model but an aid for masking.
Responsibility details are not available.
It is a masking accessory to a kit, not a model. The pre-cut masks are stuck onto the plastic parts and protect them while paint is sprayed. The set is cut for the particular L-39C kit in 1:48 scale stated in the name — before you buy, check that this is the one you are building, because the outlines of the glazing differ between toolings.
The L-39 Albatros is a jet trainer of Czechoslovak design whose prototype flew in 1968 and which became one of the most widespread machines of its category in the world. The C version is the basic training variant for pilot training. The machine is a two-seater in tandem layout, with the glazing divided into two separate parts and with clearly visible framing. It is precisely the two separate canopies one behind the other that make masking by hand lengthy — and that is why a pre-cut set pays off on this type.
First wash and degrease the glazing, so that the mask holds. Lay it down dry with tweezers and press it with a soft wooden stick from the center to the edges. We recommend spraying the frames over with the shade of the interior first and only then with the external shade. Apply the paint in thin layers; lift the mask off shortly after drying, at a sharp angle. The striking training coloring these machines are often built in calls for consistent layering from the lighter shades to the darker ones.
It is an accessory to a model, not the model itself. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
