A conversion set from the Czech maker Hauler in 1:48 scale. It does not hold a model of the tank but the parts with which a plastic model of the Panther Ausf. G is rebuilt into the so-called Ersatz M10, that is, into a machine fitted with sheet-metal additions meant to change its silhouette. The set is cut for the Tamiya kit; on another model it would call for adjustments.
At the end of 1944 a small group of Panther Ausf. G tanks was modified by adding thin sheet to the hull and turret so that from a distance they would resemble the American M10 tank destroyer. It was a temporary modification tied to one particular operation and carried out with workshop means. That is precisely why the shapes of the additions are angular, the seams visible and the surface never looks factory-made, which is decisive for a model.
A conversion is not an accessory that is simply laid on top. Expect to have to cut parts of the plastic model off, sand them and adapt them to the shape of the new parts. Follow the instructions and assemble everything dry first, and only then glue. Wash the resin parts free of release agent and cut the casting blocks off with a saw rather than breaking them. It is bonded with super glue; fill any seams that appear with putty and sand them down once dry. Because of the extent of the work, the set is suitable for a modeler who has already modified a kit and is not afraid to cut into plastic.
This is a conversion set, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
