A decal sheet in 1:48 scale for a model of the Soviet Polikarpov I-16 fighter, with a subject drawn from the period term for Soviet airmen.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of markings for a model of the Soviet Polikarpov I-16 fighter in 1:48 scale. The subject of the sheet points to the period expression the Soviet press used for military airmen, that is Stalin's Falcons. The nickname Rata in the name comes from the Spanish Civil War, where the opposing side labeled the machine that way. Which particular variants the sheet offers is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The I-16 was an unusual machine for its day. It was among the first production fighters to have both a cantilever low wing and retractable landing gear, while its fuselage was short and barrel-shaped with a radial engine at the front. The combination of a short fuselage and plenty of power made it nimble but hard to fly and unforgiving of mistakes. In the second half of the 1930s it was among the best, but by the start of the war it was already falling behind newer types; even so the Soviet Air Force went on fighting with it.
What is supplied is the decal sheet on its own, that is an accessory for a kit. The aircraft model, the paints, the varnishes and the decal softener are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
