A resin set from Aires in 1:48 scale, made to raise the detail of the plastic kit of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc fighter. These parts match the early state of the armament bay in the wing. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory. The set lets you open the gun bay and show an accurate inner arrangement with cast parts.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was among the high-performance variants of this British fighter of the Second World War, with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. The c designation refers to the wing type with its matching armament arrangement, the form of which developed over the course of production.
Wash the resin parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding. Paint the open gun bay with an airbrush and bring the details out with a wash and a dry brush so that the relief shows. Cut the panel out of the wing carefully.
This is an accessory for a kit. The aircraft model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
