A resin detail part in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Aires, the Quickboost range. This is not an airplane kit but a set of exhaust manifolds that replaces the plastic exhausts with more accurate resin parts with hollowed-out outlets. The part is meant to be built into the matching plastic model.
The Supermarine Spiteful was a British fighter from the end of the Second World War that grew out of the Spitfire but received a new laminar-flow wing and a V12 Rolls-Royce Griffon engine. Only a handful were completed and the type never saw wider service. The exhausts carried the gases away from the V12 engine along the sides of the nose.
First wash the mold release residue off the part, carefully cut off the casting block and bond it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Try the fit dry before gluing and adjust the surrounding plastic if needed. Spray the surface to match the rest of the model so that the part blends into the overall finish.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
