The North American P-51D Mustang is an American single-engine fighter of the second half of the Second World War and the most widespread version of the whole family. The hallmark of the D form is the teardrop canopy over the cut-down fuselage spine, which gave the pilot a view in every direction. The powerplant is a supercharged Merlin V12, built under license in the United States. The combination of that engine with an aerodynamically clean fuselage and a large fuel load gave the aircraft such range that it could escort bombers along the whole route of a raid.
The set brings seat belts for the cockpit of a P-51D model in 1:48 scale. It replaces the belts molded directly on the seat from the kit, which tend to be flat and without texture. What exactly is in the package and how the parts are put together are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Fit the belts into the finished and sprayed cockpit before you glue the fuselage halves together. Try the procedure dry beforehand, because the space in the cockpit is small in this scale and once it is glued you can no longer reach the seat. Give the straps a natural shape: bend them over the edge of the seat and let the ends drape freely over the backrest or over the side of the cushion. That is exactly what shows that they are belts and not a molded relief. A very small amount of super glue applied with the tip of a toothpick is enough to hold them.

It pays off above all on a model with the canopy slid back or displayed separately, where the cockpit can be seen into. This is an accessory for a model of the aircraft.
