This is NOT a model of the vehicle but a photo-etched detail set from the maker Hauler in 1:48 scale. It contains thin metal parts with which you replace or supplement the coarser plastic items of the kit of the VW Type 82E Kafer staff car. The aim is to raise the fidelity of the model in the places where plastic cannot capture the real thickness and fineness of the parts. The target kit is Tamiya.
Photo-etched parts typically add the fine details of the body, the interior and the small fittings of the car. The set is intended for more experienced modelers who want to move a basic kit up to a higher level of refinement.
Cut the parts from the fret with a sharp knife or with special pliers, and form the bends over a metal ruler or in a photo-etch bender. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with two-part epoxy. Before painting we recommend degreasing the metal and spraying it with a primer for better adhesion.
The set is an accessory to a kit, not a model in its own right. The Tamiya base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
