Maxim was an American maker of fire-fighting vehicles, and the C1 model of 1923 represents the early years of motorized fire appliances in the United States. The subject is associated with the fire department of Houston, Texas. Vehicles of the 1920s kept an open body and the equipment of the period.
The model is executed in metal with plastic detail and period American fire-service paintwork. The age of the subject and the open body make it an attractive piece for a collection. The vehicle rounds out a collection of fire appliances from around the world.
This is a finished collector model, not a kit. It is supplied painted and assembled on a display base.
