This is a set of 16 turned metal gun barrels for the British 120 mm (4.7 in) naval gun of 40 calibers length, type QF Mark VIII, in 1:700 scale. It is not a kit but an accurate replacement part (a detail set) from the Polish manufacturer MASTER with which you replace the plastic barrels from the box. The turned execution gives the barrel a perfectly circular section and a crisp muzzle.
The 120 mm QF Mark VIII gun served as dual-purpose armament of the Royal Navy. Among others it was carried by the Nelson-class battleships and the Courageous-class battlecruisers. A set of sixteen barrels covers the complete set of mountings for this gun on one model.
Cut the original plastic barrels off and clean up the mating surface. Glue the metal barrels on with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the surface before painting and use a primer for metal. A metal barrel stands up to handling better than a thin plastic part.
This is an accessory for a model, not a standalone kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package.
