Flyhawk 1:700 metal gun barrels for the battlecruiser HMS Hood 1941 replace the plastic barrels of the gun armament.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for ship modelers in 1:700 scale from Flyhawk. The set holds turned metal barrels for a model of the British battlecruiser HMS Hood in her 1941 state and is cut for the kit from the same maker, which has to be bought separately. A metal barrel has the correct profile and needs no cleaning up of a parting line, in the course of which the shape of the muzzle is easily lost on thin plastic parts.
HMS Hood was for two decades the largest warship in the world and a symbol of the Royal Navy. She carried eight guns of 381 millimeters in four twin turrets. In May 1941 she met the German ship Bismarck in the Denmark Strait and, after a few salvos, blew up: of a crew numbering over fifteen hundred men, three survived. It was this loss that set off the extensive hunt for the Bismarck.
The set is intended for modelers who build a ship model with an emphasis on detail. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
