1:700 IJN Destroyers Shiratsuyu-Class — Shiratsuyu and Harusame Set from Fujimi is a set of two plastic kits of Japanese Shiratsuyu-class destroyers in 1:700 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi holds, according to the name, two plastic kits of Shiratsuyu-class destroyers — the ships Shiratsuyu and Harusame — in 1:700 scale. A single box therefore gives you a small fleet straight away, one that nicely completes models of larger Japanese ships in the same scale.
The Shiratsuyu class was a group of ten destroyers of the Imperial Japanese Navy completed in the 1930s. It was marked by a heavy torpedo armament with long-range 610 mm torpedoes, and ships of this class took an intensive part in the fighting in the Pacific, including the night engagements off the Solomon Islands. Both Shiratsuyu and Harusame went down during 1944.
Destroyers in 1:700 are small — separate the parts with sharp nippers and bond them with a thin cement applied with a small brush. Spray the hulls a darker naval gray, set the linoleum areas on the decks apart and finish the masts and the aerials with tweezers. The pair of ships comes out beautifully on a shared water base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
