A plastic kit of the Japanese battleship Hyuga (1941) in 1:700 scale from Fujimi.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese battleship Hyuga as she appeared in 1941, in 1:700 scale from the Japanese firm Fujimi. The model is molded in gray plastic and contains a decal sheet. Detailed castings of the superstructures and of the main and secondary armament allow a faithful model of this heavy vessel to be built. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Hyuga was the second ship of the Ise class of the Imperial Japanese Navy. As she appeared in 1941 she was a conventional battleship with a heavy main battery in armored turrets. Only later, during the Second World War, were some ships of this class converted into so-called hybrid battleships with a flight deck at the stern. This model represents the earlier, conventional form of the vessel before that conversion.
With ships in 1:700 scale it works well to build the hull and the main decks, paint them, and only then fit the small superstructures and the armament. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and add the fine assemblies after painting. Paint the hull in the typical Japanese naval gray and set the wooden decks apart with a deck brown shade; the result comes to life with a subtle wash in the recesses and discreet patina. A stand for display is a suitable accessory.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
