Responsibility details are not available.
This release joins the waterline kit of the Japanese destroyer Shimakaze in 1:700 with accessories of port scenery. Besides the parts of the ship the package therefore holds elements that place the model in the setting of a naval port of the day. The result is a complete scene for a display case, which does not have to be completed with further accessories bought on top of it.
The Shimakaze was a Japanese destroyer built as a single example as an experimental machine with the emphasis on speed and torpedo armament. It was marked out by a powerful machinery plant and an unusually strong torpedo battery, which made it one of the most heavily armed ships of its class. It is precisely its uniqueness and slender lines that make it a favorite subject among ship modelers.
The waterline form has no underwater part, so the model stands on the water or on the base supplied. A destroyer in 1:700 holds very small parts, so work over a mat and use tweezers and thin plastic cement. It is advisable to spray the hull and the superstructures with the base color before the finest elements are fitted. Mask the decks separately from the sides of the hull. Paint the scenery parts separately; you will then tune the result together with common toning. A fine wash will emphasize the engraved lines and light dry-brushing will bring out the edges of the superstructures.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
